BIO

Joe Lawhorn is a retired veteran who enlisted in the United States Marine Corps through the delayed entry program in June of 1999 when he was 17 years old. Just two short weeks after his high school graduation, Joe left for Paris Island, South Carolina for boot camp. After finishing boot camp & graduating from the School of Infantry, he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion 6th Marines. During his service to our country, Joe served three tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. During his deployments overseas he sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, and other injuries from actions in combat. Following his medical retirement from the military, Joe took up cycling as a source of therapy to help manage the symptoms of his injuries.
